Together with Strategic Design lead Marieke van Dijk we work on a design for policy project for the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. They challenged us to use design thinking to get a better grip on todays role of green education in society. This project is one of the pilot projects from Agri Meets Design.
Todays education prepares students for what we already know, while the world has completely changed the next five years. How do you create education which prepares students for that change?
Our Happy Harvest is a learning and design research process about green education. It is a search in which existing success stories and ideas about, (green) education, the agribusiness and agricultural policy of the Dutch government are collected via a new interview technique.
After the harvest we are looking for unexpected relationships between the data we have collected.. We look at things that are slightly different in order to be able to re-frame the role of green education in the future of the Netherlands.
We will present our results during the Dutch Design Week in from October 18- 26 2014. We make sure we share our learnings from this project in a blog when the project is finished
What would the farm of the future look like?
